Cognitive Behavioral Therapy - CBT

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a form of psychotherapy that addresses the way patients are thinking about things, feeling about things, and acting on things. CBT is a clinically-proven, highly effective treatment for Depression, Anxiety (panic attacks, phobias, OCD, and other stress disorders), relationship problems, low self-esteem, and more. CBT is based on the idea that our thoughts cause our feelings and behaviors, not external things, like people, situations, and events. The benefit of this is that we can change the way we think to feel better or act better even if the situation does not change. CBT is a method that essentially identifies and helps a person to correct specific errors in what he or she is thinking that produces negative and painful feelings. While we cannot change what happens in our environment, we can choose how we will respond to it.
