Beatrice Ochieng - MA, LCPC
Beatrice Ochieng received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from McDaniel College in Maryland. Her focus of study was in community mental health, which combined with her undergraduate dual major in the Spanish language, has enabled her to reach out to those not from the mainstream population. As such, she is comfortable with diverse cultures and cultural beliefs, and brings this strength into the therapy room. She believes in the importance of building therapeutic rapport by creating a safe place where trust can be fostered. Beatrice tailors therapy to meet individual needs, since each individual is unique with unique issues. To this end, Beatrice has worked with those struggling with: Anxiety, depression, traumatic events, unresolved grief, ADHD, and adjustment issues. She approaches therapy mainly through the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) perspective, nevertheless she also uses other traditional techniques such as ACT, EFT, and Mindfulness.
Beatrice is married with children and enjoys spending time with family, travelling, reading, and exercising.
